Privacy Policy
Psychotherapy Solutions — Dr Jamie Rickcord
Psychotherapy Solutions is the private practice of Dr Jamie Rickcord, a general practitioner working in psychotherapy, at Mudita Holistic Collective, 1/12 Tasman Way, Byron Bay NSW 2481, and by telehealth. This policy explains how I collect, hold, use and disclose your personal and health information. I am bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including the Australian Privacy Principles, and the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW). Last updated October 2026.
What information I collect
I collect the information I need to provide safe and effective care. This includes your name, date of birth, contact details, emergency contact, Medicare and health fund details, referral letters, and information about your health, history and circumstances that you share with me or that other health practitioners send me. When you use this website, basic technical information such as your browser type and the pages you visit may also be recorded.
How I collect it
Usually directly from you: in person, by phone, by email or through forms. I may also receive information from your GP, psychiatrist or other treating practitioners when they refer you, and occasionally from a family member or another person with your consent. You can make a general enquiry without identifying yourself, but I will need to identify you to provide treatment or to claim a Medicare rebate.
Why I collect, use and disclose it
To assess and treat you; to communicate with your referring doctor and other practitioners involved in your care, with your consent; to process Medicare claims and payments; to discuss your care in clinical supervision without identifying you; and to meet my legal, professional and insurance obligations. I do not sell your information or use it for marketing.
When I may disclose information without your consent
Only where the law requires or allows it: for example, to lessen or prevent a serious threat to someone's life, health or safety, in response to a subpoena or court order, or under mandatory reporting obligations.
How I store and protect it
Clinical records are kept in Cliniko, a secure cloud-based practice management system. Enquiries and referrals sent to info@muditaholistic.com are received by the Mudita Holistic Collective administration team and passed to me. Paper records are kept to a minimum and stored securely. Records are kept for at least seven years after your last appointment, or until you turn 25 if you were under 18 when last seen, and are then securely destroyed.
Overseas disclosure
I do not send your information overseas. Some of the technology providers I rely on, including Cliniko and this website's host, Wix, use service providers that may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask to see or receive a copy of your records, or ask me to correct information you think is inaccurate. Please contact me using the details below and I will respond within 30 days. In limited circumstances allowed by law I may decline access, and if so I will explain why in writing.
Telehealth, email and this website
Video sessions use a secure platform. Please avoid sending detailed clinical information by email or through this website unless it is necessary. This website uses cookies for basic functions and site statistics; you can manage cookies in your browser settings.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how your information has been handled, please contact me first and I will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (www.oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992) or the NSW Information and Privacy Commission (www.ipc.nsw.gov.au, 1800 472 679).
